The Best Songs of 2007, Half Year Review: 11-20
I thought it would be fun to rank my 20 favorite songs of the year, so far. Here are the rules:
- Songs have to be from an album, EP, or single already released in 2007. That means no songs I started getting into this year that came out last year and no songs I'm currently into that haven't been released yet.
- International releases that aren't out in the US yet are ok.
- Only one song per artist.
20
Apostle Of Hustle - The Naked and Alone
Way into the layered vocals.

19
The Bees - Listening Man
Retro. Soul.

18
Handsome Furs - What We Had
Another successful project from the Wolf Parade camp.

17
Loney, Dear - I Am John
How often are backing vocals the highlight (2:10 in) of a song?

16
The Besnard Lakes - Disaster
Delicate and drifting.

15
Lightspeed Champion - Galaxy of the Lost
This is how good a chorus can be.

14
Dr. Dog - Heart It Races
An Architecture In Helsinki cover that's better than the original.

13
Slaraffenland - Watch Out
Any more lyrics would be "super-floss."

12
Feist - 1234
Instant happy.

11
The Veils - Jesus For The Jugular
The song is even more badass than it's name.
